Rent party for folk rock sextet the Peekers, trying to make a showcase at CMJ in NYC this week: Jackrabbit Lounge Wed, Oct 17; music at 8 pm

Says Michael Stevens of the Peekers: "Help The Peekers get to NYC for their showcase at the annual College Music Journal Festival. Their hearts were broken last week when their "brand new" school bus broke." Canceling shows to and from the festival, these players remain focused on making their time slot at the Park the Van showcase Fri, Oct 19.

The gathering Wed, Oct 17 will begin at 7:00 p.m. An auction for commissioned artwork by Allison Dickson and a gift certificate for a massage byMonica Fayad will take place as well. Sculpture by Jay Marks and jewelry by Heather Grant will be for sale. The Peekers will play a set at 8:00. They will also be selling t-shirts and copies of their
unreleased EP from Park the Van records entitled "Cheer 4."

Entry fee will be donation only. The money raised will be used for
gas, plane tickets and cab fare.

The Peekers are with Philly-based independent record label Park the Van records. The PTV showcase has been highly anticipated by many independent music distribution companies, magazines and networks.
