Dia de los Muertos party features a 4-course supper by Shreveport chef John Salmon and Like Water for Chocolate on Fri, Oct 12, 7 pm

Artspace welcomes chef John Salmon on Fri, Oct 12. He will cook a 4-course meal featuring dishes made of chocolate, says Pam Atchison. Additionally, there will be a Kahlua and tequila tasting. "Muy delicio," she says, expectantly. Between courses sample Robert Trudeau's 10-minute documentary, "Dia de los Muertos in Shreveport." The video features interviews with some 15 local Mexican-Americans about their memories of Dia in Mexico. A showing of the classic Mexican film Like Water for Chocolate will follow.

Pre-register. $50 per person. More at shrevearts.org

The video above, shot and edited by Trudeau, is a montage of the Artspace party that opened the Dia exhibit on Sept 15.
