Mercado on Texas St on Sat, Oct 27: Artspace's street celebration of Mexico via the Dia de Los Muertos exhibit

An Artists’ Market Place will take place in Texas Street outside of artspace on Sat, Oct 27, says SRAC's Pam Atchison.

She says to artists and artisans, "There are many gifts, souvenirs, food items, and festive memorabilia associated with the Dia de los Muertos Celebration. There are opportunities to participate as a “merchant” during the festivity in October, or to sell works through the artspace giftspace. A typical “Dia de los Muertos” market place includes:

Food: tamales, tortillas, “Sesame Seed” skulls, Pan de los Muertos (Bread of the Dead)
skeletons of all sizes and mediums
Tissue paper and fresh flowers (the marigold is the flower of the dead)
Papel Picado-pierced paper patterns
Paintings
Sculptures
“Skeleton and Bones” caricatures
Candles

Entry
You will submit actual samples of your works for sales in either or both:
1. artspace Giftspace
2. The “Dias” celebration day on Sat, Oct 27 in Texas Street.

Please suggest the price of the works. SRAC sales policy is that the artist receives 70% of the sale, SRAC receives 30%. SRAC and the artist discuss optimal pricing for better sales.
