Shreveport not particularly preparing for National Bike To Work Week, May 14 - 18, but could - if it felt like it

May is National Bike Month, says bikeleague.org.

The League of American Bicyclists is promoting Bike-to-Work Week from May 14-18 and Bike-to-Work Day on Friday, May 18.

We know this isn't Austin or Nashville or NYC. We know that the local idea is not to integrate bicycling into your life, but into the roof of your SUV rack and onto the country roads that have little to do with ordinary transit.

Still, there's room for advocacy of all sorts in Shrevetown, isn't there? Please post a comment if you'll try to energize some commuting bikers in May.

Thanks to wheelman Kenneth Berg for the Bike-To-Work Week heads up.

Just about every week is bike to work for me... unless I have a gig. It's hard to move drums via bike.

Maybe if I got a trailer...hmm.

I live almost too close to work to bike. It only takes 5 minutes to walk, so biking would take a minute.

It's a great idea, and I salute you for promoting it.
