The Pioneer Heritage Center welcomes author and raconteur Clyde Edgerton for the 16th Annual Authors in April on Sat, Ap 14, says Jennifer LaPierre. The luncheon will be held at noon at the Shreveport Country Club. Tickets are $40, which includes lunch.

Clyde Edgerton has written eight novels, one nonfiction book, and numerous short stories and essays that have appeared in publications such as the New York Times Magazine, Best American Short Stories, and Southern Review. Four of his novels have been adapted to stage and three adapted to screen by other writers.

Zama Dexter says of Edgerton, "He's a musician; he has a band. There was a picture of Edgerton alongside singer Robert Earl Keene at a benefit in Oxford, Ms, in a recent New York Times. He was a pilot in Vietnam. His next book is to be called The Bible Salesman." Last week there were already over 230 reservations for the event, said Dexter.

Reservations: Marty Young, director of the Pioneer Heritage Center, 318-797-5339.

Edgerton was a Mary Jane Malone Author Series speaker at Caddo Magnet HS and the community was delighted by him.
