No Ledbetter Heights Music Fest til 08, says Ron Hardy of Playaz and Playettes, Inc, Allendale, Shreveport

Writes Ron Hardy: We want to announce that this year The Ledbetter Heights Music & Arts Fair is cancelled. It will resume in 2008 as The Lead Belly Blues Fest. With a new name and a new attitude next year's festival promises to be a larger, broader event with national and international appeal.

This event will be a collaborative effort by Playaz and Playettes, Inc and the Lead Belly Foundation. Located in Brentwood, Tn, the Leadbelly Foundation is run by Tiny Robinson, Huddie's neice.

At this time PPI is focused on presenting the Cultural Odyssey 2007- A Music & Dance Extravaganza, which will also feature a tribute to Lead Belly. This production will be held:

Ap 25 at 1:30pm / Bethune Middle School.
Ap 26 at 11am / Southern University on MLK Jr. Drive.
Ap 27 at 10 am / J.S. Clark Middle School
Ap28 at 2pm / Job Corps.
Ap 30 at 1:30pm / Booker T. Washington High School.

Times are tight, and money is running funny. There's a recession going on in town. Someone should cover it in the news.k
