Alysia Leyendecker is new director of, in effect, the newest station in Shreveport. Among her goals: "With our upgrade to 2100 watts, we're told we're reaching something like 350,000 people. We're getting calls from Texas and Arkansas, and people are genuinely very excited. We're working hard to try to expand the presence of KSCL in the community. We want our DJs to be known, and we want to be a media force in Shreveport.

My main goal as station manager is to try to make sure that KSCL does not stay the same station with just a larger broadcast radius. This does not mean that I want us to become a commercial station, as KSCL is and always will be student run and operated.

We will always play underrepresented voices and will do everything we can to assure that KSCL never turns into a top 40 station. I would just like to see KSCL expand as much as possible. I would love to see our professionalism increase along with our presence, so that we can be a pull for Centenary as well as for Shreveport."

I hope ROCK FIGHT! can stay on. I'm excited the station is doing so well and love being a part of it. And I think some people are actually digging my show, which is very nice indeed.

But it's not about me. It's about THE MUSIC! Tune in today -- 91,3 fm. All my car presets are set to it.

Please don't change it too much! KSCL is our alternative to the bland Clear Channel stations and their clones.

Oh, and let Kevan do whatever he wants. ;)

The station is certainly in good hands with Alysia. I'm glad to see KSCL in the hands of someone so capable.

Don't forget the former Centenary student who worked her funky tail off for years to make this "new" station a reality. Sara Hebert, off in Denver in grad school now, gave her heart and soul to KSCL to lay the groundwork for the expansion of the station. Thanks, Sara! Your work wasn't totally thankless...

Oh god, I cannot even begin to thank Sara enough for everything she did. This interview thingy was a little too short for that, but basically every piece of press that I do from here on out will be heaping the love on Sara and everyone else that came before me, as I essentially got handed all of this, haha.

Thanks, Neil and Alysia. At the end of the day, all I care about is that I can hear some tunes without static. You also can't forget the work of Chris Brown, Keturah Cummings and all the other station managers who really took the bull by the horns!

We walk on the shoulders of giants! Good thing they have giant shoulders, because I'm wearing heels. HA!

I am hearing great things in the community when I talk about KSCL. People are tuning in and liking what they here. They often say they are glad to have a station like KSCL. All the hard work has produced a success. Congratulations!

On another issue, there must have been some horrible mistake, because ROCK FIGHT! is back on this semester. :P

Thanks so much for promoting our local artists. My husband's music is supposed to be playing on the Hip-Hop programming, "Rennie". Shreveport has so much talent. It's great that it is getting heard. Congrats on the upgrade!!
