Carl Rosa Opera brings The Mikado to the Strand Theater, Shreveport, Fri, Ap 11, 7:30 pm

The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of North Louisiana (G&S) announces the impending arrival of The Mikado by the Carl Rosa Opera. The performance of the comic opera takes the stage at the Strand Theatre in Shreveport on Fri, Ap 11, says John Goddard.

Premiered in London in 1885, The Mikado is the most celebrated work of the Victorian-era musical comedy theatre team of Gilbert & Sullivan.

Featuring the Academy Award winning costumes from the acclaimed Mike Leigh film Topsy Turvy, this production by Carl Rosa Opera has been entertaining audiences across the globe.

The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of North Louisiana, founded in Shreveport in 1971, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to presenting high quality musical productions of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas and other community theatricals.
