"Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, spoke at Shreveport’s Galilee Baptist Church in August, 1958," says the website for the documentary "Beyond Galilee." Footage long in the possession of the Shreveport Police Dept forms the background of the film.

"Beyond Galilee" will be aired by LPB on Tues, Mar 10, 7 pm and 11:30 pm.

"In this, the earliest full length recorded speech by Dr. King, he delivers an impassioned and informative talk on social movements throughout history and the need for peaceful change. Many points that would form the backbone of his 1963 "I Have A Dream" speech at The Mall in Washington are fleshed out in front of a spirited audience at Galilee," says director Tim DeWayne.
