Lu Shen performance with the West Edge String Quartet at First United Methodist Bossier on Sat, June 5, 7:30 pm

Lu Shen, Silver Medalist of the 2009 Wideman Piano Competition,

in collaboration with the West Edge String Quartet, Kermit Poling and Elizabeth O'Bannon, violins, Borys Smolaga, viola, and Ruth Drummond, cello, will perform

- Chopin 24 Preludes, Op. 28 for solo piano
- Dvorak Piano Quintet

Lu Shen, a native of Jiangsu, China, has won several piano competitions abroad including first prize in the Hong Kong Open Piano Competition and second prizes in the Jingzhong Competition and the Asia Chopin Piano Competition. He also won third prize and best Chinese Musician Work prize in the Gulangyu Piano Festival. Most recently, he won the silver medal at the Wideman Piano Competition and consequently has been invited to perform a solo and chamber music concert in Shreveport, Louisiana in June 2010.
