“Soul Review,” a one-hour classic soul, R&B and funk show hosted by Eric Jenkins, debuts on Red River Radio Network Jan 9 at 8 p.m., says Kermit Poling.

"Each Wednesday evening, “Soul Review” will take listeners on a journey back to the ‘70s with music from Parliament; The Ohio Players; Stevie Wonder; Isaac Hayes; James Brown; The Isley Brothers; Pattie Labelle; Gladys Knight and the Pips; The Temptations; Earth, Wind and Fire and many more," says host Jenkins.

Jenkins studied broadcasting at Los Angeles City College and presented a classic soul show with the American Radio Network in Hollywood from 1994 to 1996.

He moved to New Orleans in 2005 and arrived in Shreveport in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He is finishing a degree at LSU Shreveport and came to Red River Radio as a volunteer during the fall 2007 pledge drive where he met Program Director Adam Giblin.

“Adam and I started talking and he found out I had hosted a soul show in the past, and he said it is something he has wanted to add to the program lineup for some time,” said Jenkins. “We later got together and worked out the details.”

The program can also be listened to online at redriverradio.org.
