Carnival cyclovia: a day for bicyclists to ride the middle of the Clyde Fant Parkway

Cyclovia is the closing of streets to give right-of-way to bicycles and pedestrians. The idea originated in Bogota, Colombia, says Wikipedia.

Locals treasure the principal Carnival parade days, Feb 22 and March 1, as a time for freely biking the major thoroughfares.

Ride in costume or not, say local bike enthusiasts.
