June 4-week program at the Animation & Visual Effects Academy, LSU Shreveport

"The Animation and Visual Effects Academy (AVEA) is a summer program that provides high school students with hands-on instruction in computer animation and film making," says John Miralles.

Topics covered in the summer academy include desktop graphics, film making theory, film shooting, and film editing.

Participants use professional-level tools and techniques to create a short film (from idea to completion) under the instruction of professional filmmakers, visual effects editors, and film compositors.

AVEA is sponsored by LaPREP and is a collaborative effort between LaPREP and the Animation and Visual Effects Program at LSUS.
