WEDNESDAY – September 18, 2013, 10:00 AM - Golden Anniversary Memorial Service
§       Celebration of the Golden Anniversary of Civil Rights Movement in Shreveport including a Memorial Service honoring fallen local and national Civil Rights leaders.  The historic events of the night of September 22 at Little Union, B. C. led to the events at Booker T. Washington.
       LOCATION:  Little Union Baptist Church, Shreveport 71103, Rev. Clifford McLain, Pastor.

§       Tour of the Archives Room in the C. C. McLain Education Building
§       News Conference/Interviews

WEDNESDAY – September 18, 2013, 7:00 PM – Citywide Prayer Service
§        Citywide/Regional Prayer Service (In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s uplifting civil rights sermon preached at Galilee Baptist Church)
§        LOCATION:  Galilee Baptist Church, 1500 Pierre Avenue, Shreveport 71103, Dr. E. Edward Jones, Pastor.
§      All area Churches are invited to attend.
§      Prayer Focus:  Civil Servants, Educators, Elected Officials

THURSDAY – September 19, 2013 –9:00 AM Student Film Screening
·       FILM FESTIVAL AND CIVIL RIGHTS PANEL DISCUSSION
§       Student screening of the powerful documentary “Beyond Galilee” highlighting the civil rights events, which occurred in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1963.
§      Location:  Booker T. Washington High School gymnasium
§       Testimonials of civil rights icons – including former students who were arrested and featured in the documentary “Beyond Galilee”
§       Panel discussion and interviews following the screening.   

FRIDAY – September 20, 2013 – 7:00 PM  NAACP Annual Banquet
§      LOCATION:  Clarion Hotel, 1419 East 70th Street, Shreveport, LA 71105; $65.00 per ticket

SATURDAY – September 21, 2013 – The “Finishing What We Started” Parade
10:00 AM
§       Route commemorates the historic student protest and march which lead to the mass arrests of Booker T. Washington High School Students.
§       Parade begins at Little Union Baptist Church and ends at Booker T. Washington High School on Milam Street
§        There will be a special celebration hosted by the BTW Alumni Association immediately after the parade.

SUNDAY - September 22, 2013, 6:00 PMMega Civil Rights Celebration and Worship Service
§       LOCATION:  RiverView , 600 Clyde Fant Hwy., Shreveport, Louisiana 71101
§      Culminating event open to the public.  ALL faiths and denominations are welcome to attend.
