Says the director of Step on a Crack, Shannon Stoddard, "It has been difficult, yet exciting getting to put this amazing show together. I really think families will really enjoy this show!

"Step on a Crack" is the student production of the year - which means that it is entirely student run. Our teachers advised our decisions and were there for us when we needed advice but the entire cast and crew and production team is made entirely of students - including set design, lights, costumes, and sound.

Lorna Dopson, who attended Magnet High in Shreveport, plays the lead - Ellie Murphy. She is also a senior theatre major and graduating in may. Merwin McCrady is also in my show and attended Magnet and is now a Sophomore theatre major - and he plays Frizbee who is one of the imaginary friends.

Also in the cast is senior Leah Tennyson, Sophomores Lauren Morrison, Sean Brazeel, and Freshman Andrew Jarboe."

It's a world of imaginary friends and the seriousness of family dynamics as seen through the eyes of a child during the Centenary College Theatre Department’s production of "Step on a Crack" by Susan Zeder, Nov. 6, 7, 13 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 8, 14 at 2 p.m. in the Marjorie Lyons Playhouse. Tickets: $10 for adults, $7 for Students, military and senior citizens.

Remember the days when the Playhouse produced fantastic productions that were contemporary and extremely professional? And YES....they were with students! This sort of thing would have been an embarassment. I remember when students directed things like TOM PAINE, THE FOX, MASS APPEAL, THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, etc. You know, things of worth.
