Two years of music have slipped by at Tipitina's Music Office Co-Op Shreveport, says Dan Garner. The recording and computer facility will celebrate with a visit from Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu on Wed, Aug 15, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Landrieu will also present his World Cultural Economic Forum scheme at Artspace (please see an earlier sptBlog post).
Garner, Office Manager for the Shreveport Co-op, will be available for special tours of the facility, including its state-of-the-art studio equipment.
Four local bands, Tipitina's members, will be performing an outdoor concert, including Chronic Soul (an R&B band led by Rene Foley), and the Noids (punk folk).
To learn more about the contributions that Tipitina's has made to the economic growth of their communities (Shreveport, Alexandria, New Orleans), read the 2007 Economic Impact Study.
