From the Heart of the Port City is a musical production by Ron Hardy, creator of the award-winning (2004 Governor's Arts Award) neighborhood arts initiative called Playaz and Playettes, Inc. It will be presented Sat, May 7, at the Performing Arts Center, adjacent to the First United Methodist Church of Shreveport.
This is a funny, informative account of life in Shreveport's historic Ledbetter Heights Neighborhood today and yesterday. It is full of music, dance and drama, says Hardy.
Port City stars Jamal Hall & Joanna Ballard and features music by Lil' Tura, Pyqkle Head, D.C. and Sha, Ron Hardy, Jamal Hall, and more.
Tickets are $15.00. All proceeds benefit Playaz & Playettes, Inc., a non-profit charitable artistic educational corporation headed by Ron Hardy.
