Writes the Robinson Film Center's Chris Jay, " I am trying to spread the word about one of the more unusual programs we have booked in some time, the
Oscar-Nominated Short Film showcases, which we’ll be screening this weekend and next. There are two separate, feature-length showcases, one containing all five Oscar-nominated animated shorts and another containing all five live-action shorts. After seeing last year’s Oscar-nominated shorts, which we brought for one night only right after we opened in May, this has become one of my personal “must see” film programs. I asked the distributor of these films how many theaters in America were hosting this program, and he said “Less than 20,” which I also think is really cool. Both showcases are scheduled for matinee times, so tickets won’t run anyone more than $5.75."
Ratings? "The animated program is appropriate for ages 13+, I’m told, but the live action is equivalent to an “R” rating for language."
