Introducing a SXSW video, NPR.org said, "The Louisiana-based band Gashcat makes fantastically catchy, idiosyncratic rock and pop songs bursting with joy. We first heard the group at the 2012 South by Southwest music festival. But Gashcat returned to Austin in 2013 to give another thrilling, all-too-short performance."

SXSW said, "Gashcat started in the winter of 2010 as a drums/bass/guitar 3-piece band in Austin, TX, fronted by singer songwriter Kyle Craft and backed by Rick Hancock and Haley Massey. The band is in the process of putting together a new album to follow their full length, Reunion!, and their latest release, Devil Kid Demos. Gashcat is a noisy, fuzzy, shaky, folk rock band... that's all. Oh, and they live in Shreveport, LA now... They said you should come visit."
