Riverside groove with the Bluebirds and Dirty Red Crenshaw at the Barnwell's Hot Jazz on the Red series, Thurs, May 15, 6 to 8 pm

Groovin to the Bluebirds

Dirty Red Crenshaw is a trumpeter who understands music, tone, groove, poetry, melody, professionalism and, supremely, the birth of the cool.

Having Crenshaw accompanying the Bluebirds at the Barnwell Center makes the Thursday night event a sweet deal. You may think of Bruce Flett as a purveyor of blue-eyed soul, and he is, but he is much more than that. Loves the challenge of jazz. As do his young podnas, Jimmy Wooten and Cody Lowery.

6 to 8 pm.
Bring your own picnic.
Cash bar.
