“The whole state of Louisiana really is a museum,” Lt Gov Mitch Landrieu tells NY Times writer Ron Stodghill in an article on the new African-American Heritage Trail (May 25 Travel).

Louisiana's Af-Am Heritage Trail includes 26-sites.

What's featured in Shreveport? Click on the Trail map's blue squares and you will be entertained by Lou Gossett, Jr, as he offers brief history lessons that relate to the MultiCultural Center of the South and the Southern Museum of Art Shreveport.

The Calanthean Temple and dance halls of Texas Ave are not included in the Trail. There is room for enormous growth over the coming decades in what's featured in this fascinating program.
