Dr. Beck will be giving a presentation of the Arts, Visualization, Advanced Technologies and Research(AVATAR) Initiative and its research projects, including Kinect-based human-computer interaction and the Laptop Orchestra of Louisiana.
- Introduction to Game Design with the Unity Game Engine Workshop, hosted by Dwight House, Graduate of DigiPen University
Saturday, April 16 at 10:00am, Technology Building RM 225A
Learn principles of game design by building a first-person shooter game with the Unity game engine. This is a repeat of the workshop presented on February 26.
- Introduction to Creature Modeling with Autodesk Mudbox Workshop, hosted by Fausto Tejeda, Digital Artist at Millennium Studios Shreveport
Saturday, May 7 at 10:00-12:00pm, Technology Building RM 225A
Participants of the workshop will be instructed on creature creation, led by Fausto Tejeda, digital artist with Millennium Studios Shreveport, with Autodesk Mudbox which is a 3D sculpting and painting software that allows artists to create amazing assets with minimal time. The program allows the artist to just create, without having to be concerned about technical details.
- AVE 440 Computer Game Implementation
June 29-July 29, Monday thru Thursday, 10:30-12:50, Technology Building RM 225A
Students will learn how to create 3D games with an existing game engine in this project-driven course. Some knowledge of basic programming and 3D is recommended.
