Shreveport Green will collect Christmas trees to recycle into landscaping mulch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 8 at Eco Mulch and Sod, 6105 St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport.
"Recycling Christmas trees reduces the quantity of waste going to the local landfill and allows the wood to be re-used in an eco-friendly manner," a news release states. The mulch will be given to area parks and schools for landscaping and pathways.
