Shreve Memorial Library is partnering with Centenary College and the
Multicultural Center of the South to offer the following events:
Sept. 16
Broadmoor Library: 2 - 4p.m. Dr. Cheryl White of LSUS History Dept. will review and discuss the book,"Kingfish: The Reign of Huey P.
Long." The public is invited.
Sept. 19
KSLA News early morning interview discussing upcoming events.
Sept. 20
Main Library: 12 noon Brown Bag Lunch. The book will be reviewed and discussed. The public is invited to bring their lunch and participate. Review by Peggy Evans, Collection Development Dept., Shreve Memorial Library.
Sept. 20
West Shreveport Library: Mayor Glover will be speaking from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to Evangel eighth grade and Turner School eighth
grade students on the topic of government and Louisiana.
Sept. 24
KTBS Morning show TV interview Dr. Richard White, author, and
discussion of events for One Book One City.
Sept. 24
Hamilton South Caddo Library: 10:00 a.m. Dr. Richard White,
author of "Kingfish," will speak. The public is invited.
Sept. 24
Centenary College: 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Dr. Richard White,
author of "Kingfish," will speak. The public is invited to
Anderson Auditorium in Hurley Music Bldg. Parking is available on
Woodlawn Ave. and adjacent streets.
Sept. 27
Cedar Grove Library: 10:00a.m. Chris Jay, Marketing Director for the Robinson Film Institute, will show the Ken Burns' film, "Huey Long". Senior citizens from the Spring Lake community will
be guests along with the interested public for this 60 minute film.
Discussion will follow.
