"Have you ever wanted to sing and dance on stage? Dress up in cool costumes? Make new friends? Have fun? Well, we’ve got just the ticket for you," says Steve Aiken.

Shreveport Opera will be holding chorus auditions for individuals 18 years of age and up on Saturday, April 20th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anderson Choral Building, Hurley School of Music, at Centenary College.

The 2013-14 productions include The Elixir of Love on November 9, 2013, The Mikado on February 15, 2014 and one of the grandest of all, Puccini’s Turandot on April 26, 2014. Please be prepared to sing two selections of your choice, one in Italian is preferred but not necessary. Please bring sheet music for the pianist.

If you wish to be in the chorus, rehearsals are Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., 2 months before the show. Staging rehearsals are typically Monday through Friday 7-10 p.m. and Saturday afternoons for the 3 weeks preceding each show. There is a $100 honorarium.
