ArtBreak: volunteers needed for hands-on fest to be held at new Shreveport Convention Center last weekend in April

Writes poet Nadine Charity, "Dear Friends, I am rather better at volunteering than asking for volunteers, but here goes: ArtBreak is having the new, improved, huge version this year. It has moved to the new Shreveport Convention Center and is being held the last weekend in April.

And, as always, we need help. The Literary offering of ArtBreak this year is called "Poet Tree" and is a four part center held in the shade of a spreading what-z-it tree. Two literary artists will be working the whole weekend, but they will need lots-o-help, and that is where volunteers come in. Children will be shown how and encouraged to write
a
haiku
and then turn this poem into a work of art. Obviously, this is more than a two artist job.

Help will be needed:
Fri, Ap 27 from 5pm - 8pm
Sat, Ap 28, 10am - 8 pm
Sun, Ap 29, noon - 5pm

I hope that some of you will be able to do a one or two hour shift to
make this a grand success and more fun than a tree full of monkeys. If you have a few spare hours that weekend, we can sure use your help.

Let me know when you will be available and I will work out a schedule that will accomodate your time."
