Global competitors perform in Wideman International Piano Competition on Dec. 6-8, Hurley School of Music, Centenary College, Shreveport

Centenary College will host the Wideman International Piano Competition on Dec. 6-8, says Lester Senter Wilson.

The 2013 Wideman International Piano Competition will be held Dec. 6-8 at Centenary’s Hurley School of Music. Admission to the preliminary rounds is free and open to the public. Admission to the final competition is free for students and $10 per person for the public.

Preliminary rounds: Friday, Dec. 6, 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. and 2:45-6:15 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.-6 p.m. Finals: Sunday, Dec. 8, beginning at 1 p.m.

“We are expecting 41 contestants from eight states and 12 countries to compete for the gold, silver, bronze, and honorable mention titles,” says Wilson, executive director.
