River City Rep comedy, Moonlight & Magnolias, runs Nov 11 - 15 at Riverview Theater, Shreveport

River City Repertory Theatre, Shreveport-Bossier’s only professional theatre company, will open its fourth season with the comedy Moonlight and Magnolias on November 11th at Riverview Theater in downtown Shreveport, says Patric McWilliams.

The comedy, written by Ron Hutchinson, takes a look at legendary producer David O. Selznick’s decision to shut down the filming of his epic movie Gone with the Wind, his cinematic adaptation of Margaret Mitchell’s acclaimed novel which had helped its readers weather the bleak Depression years.

See Jim Montgomery as David O. Selznick, Richard Folmer as Victor Fleming, Jonathan McVay as Ben Hecht and Ruth Doreck as Miss Poppenghul, Selznick’s harried secretary.

Moonlight will be directed by Patric McWilliams with Light Design by Tristan Decker, Sound Design by Kermit Poling and Set and Costume Design by McWilliams.

Performances are Nov 11, 12, 13 and 14 at 7:30 pm; Nov 15th at 3 pm.

Moonlight and Magnolias is a participant in Shreveport Regional Arts Council’s Triumph Over Tragedy project commemorating the anniversary of the Depression Era.
