CooperPalooza in March: bands from Israel, from Japan and Brooklyn, etc, smash it up at 122 E. Dalzell, Shreveport

Alec Holland has released his global rock report for March. The report is that bands from Israel, Wash, DC, Seattle, New Zealand, Japan and various places in California will be whipping it at Cooper Manor, 122 E Dalzell, Shreveport.

Hate to say it, but Holland is hanging from his calves above the stage on this deal. If he doesn't draw the numbers, he says, it will be debtor's prison for the young independent producer-rocker-video artist.

These are all great bands.

Alec's band, Kenny & The Flesh, is dope, too.

If you like punk rock, and I do, Alec's venue is the best in town.

I'm pretty stoked about the Markers, too. It's kin d of like if the Ramones had come here in 1976.

I saw Yip Yip weekend before last here in Denver and they were totally rad. Maybe 15 people showed up, so I hope Alec has better luck than we had here.

Yip Yip on their own are a group that is harder to bring in a lot of people due to how simply weird and unconventional they are. Being paired with Green Milk From The Planet Orange, however, the show should be fine. It will be one of the best shows of March for sure.

Have learned much about the musical landscape from the correspondents here. Have checked out Magik Markers - girl up front off the chine - and revisited Green Milk just to make sure they're as good as I remembered. They were. See Alec's YouTube video under the name dasalec.

Also, some of these bands are being tracked across the country by photogs who post on flickr.com
